The on-line store uses cookies to keep track of your session. A session times out in about 60 minutes.
Many of our products are not on-line. Please call or email us to get a prompt, friendly, and expert answer to any question you may have. We probably have what you want, and can ship it the same day if you call early in the day!

Site Navigation: When you are browsing the 'on-line store' there is a bar of navigation links for Store Front, Account, Search, Product List, Basket Contents, and Checkout near the top (Checkout hugs the right side of the window and may not be visible if your browser window is narrow; use your horizontal scroll bar to see it). Depending on how you got to the web site, you will usually have separate browser windows  open for the on-line store, and the other parts of the web site including this page.

• Home Page To go to The Clever Cook home page click anywhere in the image at top of the page or click the Clever Fox in the left navigation bar.
• Store Front Displays the first page, the 'store front' of the on-line store, with links to the product categories.
• Account To go to the secure server to login or to setup a new account. See Privacy Policy below. If you have forgotten your password you may also have it emailed to you via this page.
• Search Searches the pages of the on-line store.  The retail store has its own search.
• Product List Displays a list of on-line store products of all categories.
• Basket Contents Lists the items and quantities you have chosen. You may delete items there.
• Checkout To go to the secure server to complete your order. Several pages are presented in sequence at checkout.
  • Customer Information   presents your order, without shipping & handling or taxes, and asks for ship-to and bill-to information, including email address. Clicking on 'Continue' takes you to the second page.
  • Select Shipping/Payment displays the ship-to and bill-to information you entered, and this is where you choose your shipping method and your billing method. You can choose UPS Ground, UPS Standard, and UPS 3 Day Select. For payment method you can choose to pay by check or by VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. If there is a problem with the address information which you entered, the shipping method will be empty.  Go back and correct it. Clicking on 'Continue' takes you to the third page.
  • Payment Information is where you will enter credit information or your check number. Only simple credit card validation is performed in that form; your credit information is not checked on-line. Your credit card is not charged until the order ships. Please note on that page that the shipping charge has been added and that charge includes $6.50 handling. Please double-check everything on this page. Click once on 'Continue' finalizes your order.
  • Invoice Your Order is complete when you see the 'Invoice' page. Your order has been sent to The Clever Cook. Be sure to keep the invoice for your records

Shipping: The on-line store offers the choices shown above in Select Shipping/Payment, but if you would like some other shipping method please call our toll-free line at (888) 598-2665 and we will happily process your order with different shipping arrangements. By way of further explanation, the shipping charges can get quite outrageous as for example to safely ship 4 wine glasses via 'air'. The container is oversized due to packing material.

Return Policy: For clearance items only, there are no refunds or returns. For other items, you may return them within 30 days for a full refund; after 30 days AND with receipt you will receive a store credit. Shipping charges are not refunded.

Processing Orders

• We monitor for orders daily, 9AM-7PM EST, Monday through Saturday.
• We acknowledge receipt of your order via email as the first step.
• If there is a problem with your order we will call or email you immediately.
• We also send you order status when your purchase is ready for pickup by UPS.
• If you want to know your UPS order number, please send us email with the 'subject' as 'Order nnnn UPS Tracking Number Request".

Security: We use a secure internet web server with a very reputable web hosting company. You can tell when you are using the secure web server by the padlock icon in the bar at the bottom of your browser. We log on securely to view your credit card information when it is time to bill you. The information is removed from the secure server at that time.

Privacy Policy: The information you provide is used only to fulfill your order. If you wish to join one of our mail lists, please 'opt in' at Mail Lists. Please see our Privacy Policy page for details.

International Orders: We welcome your business.  Please call or email us to resolve payment and shipment arrangements. Have ready the product numbers and product attributes, quantities and your shipping address. Please also have ready your preferred payment method.
